The Answer is Within
I was watching a YouTube video today. The video was about a 21-year-old individual asking a life expert/coach what he should do with his life. He feels as though he does not know what he is doing or where he is heading in terms of career, goals, or something along those lines. But what fascinated me was the reply of the expert. Instead of something practical like research or asking experts (though he did say this), he simply told him to go somewhere serene and quiet. Book a room, get a notepad, and speak to God. Sit with his thoughts and try to figure out what he wants. He mentioned that the guy is like a rat in a wheel and needs to take a break from the noise to figure out exactly what he wants.
What strikes me as profound about this advice is the fact that the expert encourages him to get the answer from within. Whenever we feel the need to make an important decision or a big life change, we are usually encouraged to consult, ask, and get advice from others. But no one knows. Not even your parents can tell you what to do. Only you do. The answer is within you. Of course, we live in a society where everyone tries to provide solutions to whatever dilemma you are facing, but deep down we all know there is no answer from this. Only you have the answer to your dilemma. Only you know what you want deep down. Take the time, meditate, quiet the noise, ponder, face your demons, be the observer, and try to narrow down what you want. Easier said than done.
